BRIEFS Bolsonaro announces Environment Ministry pick  President-elect Jair Bolsonaro announced his last cabinet pick: attorney Ricardo Salles to head the Environment Ministry. Mr. Salles ran unsuccessfully for federal deputy this year and heads an anti-corruption movement. He was São Paulo’s state secretary of Environment from 2016 to 2017 and came under investigation by state prosecutors on charges of forging maps that cleared an environmental protection area for development. Mr. Salles told Valor he is not worried about the case, arguing technical disagreements motivated it. The announcement capped a week in which Mr. Bolsonaro was forced to explain an unusual payment of R$24,000 made to his wife by the former driver of one of his politician sons, newly elected Senator Flavio Bolsonaro.
